Ruby Zelissen (1992)

Oil painting allows capturing inspiring moments or atmospheres that can be present in everday life. I enjoy painting vibrant colors and light that characterize the scene. 

Drawn to the 19th century realism, masters such as Sargent, Bouguereau, and Belly (exhibition 2025 in Musee d'Orsay Paris), motivated me to paint classical realistic still lifes and sceneries, yet with a contemporary touch.
